Michael and Margie,

Glad to hear you’re doing well.  I’ve thought about you often and you’ve both been in my prayers.  I wish you continued success in your recovery.

I will be in Chicago for a wedding (March 11-15).  Let me know if you’re up for a visit, it would be great to see you.

Intramural football, Red Raiders, you as QB, Blue Bruins & White Chargers, me as RB. Keep on doing well & feelig better. send you a big abrazo.

Michael, I was saddened to hear about your stroke, but happy to hear about the recovery you are bringing about. If you have heard that a full recovery is improbable bear in mind that it is improbable because it is possible. Margie, we haven’t met, but I look forward to meeting you at the AHS reunion. You are both in my prayers. Les mando un abrazo de corazon.

Jim Stanton

Michael wanted me to respond to the email regarding the reunion.  He would love to attend but unfortunately you all are going to have to put up with me also!  He is not at the point where he can travel alone.

Michael is still making progress but however, no speech so far.  His cognitive skills and reading ability have returned .  It is a long journey but he is continuing to make progress. He is very upbeat and working hard on his recovery.

His weird sense of humor still exists and as always, he finds humor in(what he thinks) are the stupid things I do. He must have  death wish!

Anyhow, he is now able to read the posts on this website and  at some point in the not too distant future,  I think he will be able to respond personally.

Thanks for keeping him in your thoughts and prayers, it means a lot to him.

Hope all of you are doing well.

Love from Michael and Margie

Dear Mike,

I just heard about what happened from Nena through the American High School link. I do hope you are doing well and feeling better. You have my best wishes.  I hope you’ll be able to come to the next AHS Reunion in 2012. It would be great to see you.

Stephanie

Dear Mike, I really belong to an older generation. I remember you from base ball. I was introduced to a rehabilation tool that has been great for my back, prostate etc. It works on the basis of the potasium Pump. The equipment was originally thought up by one of the best cardiologist Mexico has produced, Dr. Demetrio Sodi Pallares. Sodi, was known for being the first in elimating sodium from the diets of cardiologic patients. He then noticed that patients should up with less broken bones to his office. He knew then their was a connection. 40 years later he invented a Pulsed Maganatism contraption I have used since 1996. My model weighs 20 kilos, the germans copied the equipment at 300 grams. Tied to this alternative is the fact it all emulates the potasium pump. The rebuilding of cells is posible as well as brain function are bettered for better conection. It is now speculated that brain cells due replace, against thought of before. Should you be intrested in this equipment. i can put you in contact. www.magnetotec.com.mx and www.sodipallares.com.mx Jorge from Cuernavaca

So sorry to hear of your stroke, but am very encouraged by news of your recovery. Hard to believe so many years have passed since ‘65. Curious that I was just thinking of you the other day, just before getting the word about you thru the “Class of 65 Turns 65″ grapevine. Would love to see you make enough progress to join the fun. Either way all our hearts, best wishes and prayers are with you.

Dave West

Well, sometimes I just have to write a BUG and remember the old days. Please get your act together and we can discuss at a class reunion!
(AHS were good days, huh?) BATS get together every several years and most of them are going bald! Wow, I haven’t changed, what’s their story? Ha. I wish you the speediest recovery.
Dave Graves

I knew you at the AHS in the 60’s. You may not remember me but I wish you the best with a rapid recovery and may God Bless you, Sandy Stone McGrath

MICHAEL – IT’S NENA. I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT YOUR STROKE. NOW I KNOW WHY ALL MY EMAILS TO YOU OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS OR SO, WENT UNANSWERED. WE ARE JUST IN THE PLANNING STAGES FOR AN AHS REUNION IN 2012 – THIS TIME WE ARE INCLUDING OTHER ANGLO SCHOOLS LIKE LOMAS HIGH, CROCKERS, GREENGATES, ETC. THE THEME IS “CLASS OF ‘65 TURNS 65.” IF YOU OR MARGIE WOULD LIKE TO BE ON THE UPDATE LIST – JUST LET ME KNOW AT MY EMAIL: coyotearz@aol.com.

MIKE AND I SEND YOU BIG ABRAZOS, AND BE SURE THAT YOU ARE IN MY PRAYERS – EVERYDAY.

CON MUCHO, MUCHO CARINO, NENA

Michael, I’ve thought of you so often during the years, as I so enjoyed our time working together in the 90s. I also have told many people about your experience taking the ADD drug prescribed for your daughter and then your own curiosity about how it affected you. That was a mark of such extraordinary parental protectiveness, plus your own reflection and ability to self-observe touched me greatly. I learned a ton in working with you, and I will always cherish those experiences. I can imagine that recovering from a stroke has been very challenging, and I hope that you still have that rare combination of optimism and dogged persistence that led to such career success, as both would undoubtedly be helpful now. All the best, Kate Ludeman

Hi Michael, Say the last two times we met were at the car wash in Palatine, the last time when I heard a voice behind me say we had to stop meeting this way. Seriously I thought you were an inspirational leader at Motorola, are loved by many, and I wish you the best. Would like to hear how you are doing. Regards, Bob

Michael and Margie,  You never made it to FL but we are still here waiting for you.  Let’s plan on next season.  You are both in my thoughts always.  Let me know when it is OK to come to Chicago and visit – will be brief. Not a big deal from Boston.

Love and prayers,

Dan P

Those are the first attributes that come to mind when I think of my own experiences with Michael . . . and you know what?  Those are the same immovable and indomitable character traits that are just as evident in him now as they ever were, and will see him and his family through his recovery.  How many people can you truly say that about, in an unqualified way, in today’s world?  It’s worth reflecting on.

Michael, you need to know those qualities are not lost on all of us:  Since last July, 135 of your friends have registered on this web site from places all over the world, and you have received over 60 messages of support and inspiration.  1100 hits per month (being a finance geek, I couldn’t resist throwing in a metric or two).  That is large.  Muy grande.

Please keep the messages of support coming – every single one means a lot to Michael and his family.

Michael,

News about you is just making its way to the Mexico gang and we’re all vewry hopeful that things are progressing well.  From the blog entries, it seems that you were having some early and quick progress, so I hope very much that’s continued!

I was transferred back to Japan in late 05, and then to Melbourne, Australia in late 08… life is good here!  Australia is a great place to live and a bit out of the eye of the financial hurricane, so it’s all good!

Michael,  please know you and your family are most definitely in my thoughts.

Best,

Don
